It's Christmas feels πŸŒ²πŸŽ„πŸŽ„

Every year during mid of December ,I get these gittery Christmas vibes. And the reason for that is for the 12 years of my life in a convent school I have been celebrating Christmas with full enthusiasm. The festival feels in my school were on full swing during Christmas... We used to get a weekly Holiday and plus a week long celebration of Christmas preceding these holidays.

Every year there were competitions which were star decorating competition... Quoir singing competition .. and the most happening and full of swag inter school Christmas Carol singing competition! !

The real competition!

Now my school was the host where students of other convent schools were invited for Carol singing. It was a matter of reputation to win the Carol singing competition as it was inter school competition. There was a  cold war like situation between the Carmelites The Xaverites The Pauline's The Campionites And ofcourse The Theresians.  And mind you it was some serious thing among students during those days.

Now I have been a witness to this Carol singing every year... And I Just loved the Christmas vibes. The quoir singing in sink... The big violin..the piano the drums the flute the guitar... You hear all these instruments live at one place and that students performing at their best due to the spirit of the competition. With the passing years this competition became way too competitive and students practiced for amonth to win this competition.

The Christmas themed decor!🌼🌼

Our auditorium also had the best music system , around 10 huge speakers in different corners .. plus the beautiful decoration of the full stage was just so beautiful! Stars covered with colourful gelatins with small lights inside them made them look like actual stars. The red carpet the small lights everywhere the Christmas tree fully decorated!  And the fake snow balls to give the winter effect. Aha! Just a delight to watch!🌟

Now let me talk about the competition

All convent school children would become rivals to each other during the competition. All girls in there cindrella dresses and guys in suits just looked dapper! It was good time to explore students of other school too! And to become famous after winning the competition 😝😝

Every year each convent school tried to do something new to stand out in the competition..

Some people brought new instrument like a bongo or the electric Guitar🎸🎸🎸...

And some people chose the toughest Christmas carols with very high notes!

Some people would perform a skit of mother Mary while singing the quoir..

And if it was a all boys school some were dressed up as girls which was quite fun to watch😝😝

The Carmelites were dressed up in their signature red check dress and black stockings!Though they were rivals back then but looked spectacular.

The earnestness to win the competition was so high that the Pauline's brought a real goat which was trained to give sound effects while they sang Felis Navidad..  First nobody belived that it was a real goat it was so well trained!  She just said " Mehhh " wherein required.

The audience couldn't keep their calm and just started laughing! And oh my myy.. what a competition that was!! Ofcourse the Pauline's won that year ! And it was well deserved πŸŒŸπŸŽ„

We as good host would offer amazing treats to the students of other schools! But rivalry still intact.. Even if a student from other school smiled you would not smile back was the rule😝😝Dayum stupid!πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

But Celebrating Christmas in school was exquisite. Our most bulky teacher was made Santa and some lucky students would get a gift too! πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡❄️

And the carols just sung perfectly added to the perfect Christmas vibe!

Felis Navidad

Snow is falling..

It's Christmas time..

Were some of my favourites.. and still are! I still recall the school celebration every mid December! And rejoice the memory lane.. And I crave for those days still every December! Coz they were just unmatchable ❄️❄️
