Metro ka Safar..πππππ
For a person who spends most of his time in commutation in metro this blog can be a relatable one. The rainbow coloured metro lines can be a bit overwhelming for a new traveller but once you get the habit of it is as smooth as ever!
Your diverse copassengers : So the most interesting part about the travel is the different people you meet in metro. It can be a famous til toker aur an athlete with a huge body or 80 year old Punjabi aunty asking you give her some space .. or the most frequent of all a couple deeply in love displaying all their affection in the metro compartment. You can meet some students too who are either reading newspaper or seeing some lecture on the phone. Some daily travellers after office are fighting for seats.
People carrying their backpack in front so that they are saved from pick pockets in metro! Some ultra glamorous models to women with their burkhas. Some Delhi Ka gunda to formal secretariat employees with big specs. The small kids who very often find the steel poles as their muse. Some policemen keeping a check on males entering the female compartment. All are your fellow copassengers. For a observant like me it is a delight. People from Nigeria or California all travel through the most safe and comforting place in Delhi's extreme summer and winter.
The best part is when you travel with a good company you get to talk without any hindrance and enjoy the travel.
After being tired sitting in the metro gave me a time to stop and think .
The women's compartment: Now I was a regular visitor of women's compartment just to see how does the driver's seat looks like! What is behind that door! And how can a driverless metro is operating itself. And moreover the most fashionable part of the metro has to be the first compartment. I learnt about various hair colours that you can try and look superb in anything that you wear. That is the reason that most of the young men will be lingering in the second compartment just to get a glimpse of all the beautiful women in the first one .
The phone network: Highly poor connectivity in the metro prevents you from indulging in long conversation. It is frustrating because you spend a lot of time in commutation. I have seen people fighting on calls I wonder misunderstanding due to poor connectivity is the main reason for it.
Special mention to Rajiv chowk crowd!; The first time I witnessed Rajiv chowks crowd I couldn't understand whether I am walking myself or being just carried away with the crowd! How to follow the yellow footsteps ? Whether to climb up the stairs or go right underground! Whether to have a coffee In CCD or to just try the street food Of Connought place.
Now I am a pro at everything! But I could feel other person breath standing next to me! Which is kind a gross! But Rajiv chowk brings people close! ( Even if they don't want to).
The long walks on moving accelerators while changing from blue line to pink was a journey that never ended!!! But it was better than the road traffic so no complaints!
The best part is you meet some people at random and share a co passenger bond unexpectedly without knowing anything about each other . But still try to help the other person. It reinstates humanity in a overcrowded city .
When you are so regular traveller the Delhi metro staff asks you:; madam Voi regular 1000 Ka recharge kar do ?? And I am like Bilkul.π¬π¬
But it has been a boon to have a commutation at that speed and in comfortable environment of constant air conditioning. And moreover the diversity which you get to witness makes you fell the whole of India is traveling in these small compartments. The NCR region has become so connected that Noida doesn't feel like that it is not in Delhi! The railway stations have come closer to each other and easy to reach even you are running late! Transportation in the capital has become way more easy and reduced the load in road!!
The regular travel made me realise the hustle of the big cities which never stops! And makes it even more alive and continuous. The few hours in metro were a kind a stoppage for me from the daily hustle where I was with me in tightly packed compartment! But just me!
Iss baar kaafi bada and well-connected lag raha hai. Kaafi vichar vimarsh kiya hai ispe aapne lagta hai
ReplyDeleteHume toh laga yahan bhi koi chor daket ki kahani n ho. Par seedhi saari kahani achi lagi hume kaafi
Dilli se hain aap?

It can be used as the monologue of a movie, where the protagonist is being introduced to the audience. At the end of it many of them would say 'yeh mein hu'
