Purani Delhi ki dilkashi,πππ
After watching many you tube videos on Delhi I always wanted to explore the dilli Ka Dil _purani Delhi...
The narrow streets in the song masakali ..the bedmi Puri and halwa combination..the daulat ki chat in winters...the underground Meena bazar....the authentic butter chicken ...the uncountable lehenga walas pursuading you to get married like your own buaji...the parathe wali Gali...all was on my bucket list! !
I was happily accompanied by my roommate and my class fellow! Which made it all the more exciting because they too indulge in delicacies like me! And all three of us outsiders from Delhi exploring the real deal of Chandni chowk!
The overcrowded market was a little overwhelming for me! Having a good height helps you to identify where your friends are! Otherwise you can be lost easily if you are a first timer..You can find everything from a needle shop to 100 year old jalebi wala.....people in a que waiting for their turn..and old palace like building which is actually SBI bank..looked really royal to me.The chicken tikka masala smell making you salivate.
The best part is there are some people trying to sell you lehenga for your own wedding which is not even finalised yet! πThey lure you by imagining you in Anushka Sharma lehenga and also let you try them and feel like a princess though for few minutesπ π
Let me tell you a truth the parathe wali Gali is overhyphed!! They just deep fry the parathas in overcooked oil! Eww! But the pure desi ghee wali kachori was heaven! Being from central India not used to aalo ki Sabzi over it! But still it was just like my mouth is blessed with relishing flavours in one go!The daulat ki chat sounds way too royal than it really is! It's simply milk froth! But in Delhi ki Sardi It's comforting sweet and melts in your mouth instantly!!!
The best was butter chicken .which is literally chicken in loads of butter!!! Clarified butter shinning over tender and juicy grilled chicken! And rumali roti was just superb! Very affordable! But you have to eat it with your hands!! For a amateur in this skill like me..it was cumbersome! There were foreigners making vlogs here! Eating with their hands and experiencing the foodgasm!!π€£π€£But the taste made me forget everything! This Mughal delicacy is a must try!
The marketing strategy compels you to buy things you do not need! I brought socks which I never wear! The beautiful embroidery made me buy a zardozi purse! Still left unused waiting to be gifted! Or maybe used.
The best part was a Telgu : a Sindhi: and a nimari enjoying the old majestic street of Delhi...feeling the warmth of the crowd.. the exquisite smell of food...the giggles and the discussion of history which we all three read was definitely a mesmerising experience!
Islie dilli jau to uska Dil dekhna mat bhulna Janab!
Kyunki purani Delhi nhi Dekha to kya Dekha!
